Pronunciation of Tacitus

According to the Oxford Dictionary of Words and Phrases: The i in Tacitus is long. Therefore, according to the rule of pronunciation for classical latin, that syllable should be accented. Also according to the rules of pronunciation, the c is pronounced hard (as in k). My opinion therefore is that Tacitus should be pronounced: Tak - EET - us
