How to pronounce Scharlau?

Shar lau' in northern Wisconsin:

Shar is what you would expect,(shark without the K)

lau is "loud" without the d
or rhymes with cow or pow.

I have heard in the Milwaukee, WI area:
Shar' low just as it looks, but with accent on first sylable
