Additional Information:
The Nyffler’s that came to America, around 1885, came from Switzerland 🇨🇭, but they spoke German.
According to my Grandfather (born in 1886, in a covered wagon pulled by oxen) the “boys” dropped the first “e” and the “girls” in the family retained both “e’s.”
NYFFLER…and NYFFELER…are pronounced the same and are definitely related to each other.
My Grandfather also said the family was from Bern, Switzerland. (They ended up in Western Nebraska, in a town called Rushville.)
