Ionic does not particularly tell you what country it is but there is an ionic area near Greece there is ionic architecture another version of my name the Greek version is Adona.it's very difficult to find my name in the name books anymore but several years ago I did find it. There was a lady in my hometown who is older that had the name idonna I've never heard of anyone else having that name since.
