CAthlIne is pronounced with two syllables, cath and line just as it is written, but believed to be descended from Pennsylvania Deutse who came to Canada in 1783 said to have been named "Kochlin" Pronounced "Koch-lin" or perhaps: "Koch-line" or however these Germanic or French emigrants may have pronounced it and English census takers translated what they said.
