Pronunciation of Andrine in Vashon, WA, USA

ann-DREEN (Well, if you're in the USA, that is. In Norway, where it's from, it's ahn-DRAIN-uh, with the "r" slightly trilled)

Anglicizing this name has not made it pronounceable to most English speaking people. A large percentage of the people I meet can not see the first "n" in my name if they read it, and say uh-dreen. I don't know why this is, since everyone who speaks English can recognize and properly speak the word "and". A smaller portion of people insist it's Adrian or Andrea. And a smaller portion yet, insists on saying ANN-dreyene (the "eye" pronounced like your eyes) But people do not have difficulty pronouncing Nadine, Ovaltine, Vaseline, Maybelline, or gasoline. I can't figure out why this is, but it's still excruciating after 46 years. I'm about ready to call everyone who mispronounces my name "Bob". But people would then find me rude.
