Pronunciation of Alayne in Australian born to Australian parents

I have borne this name for 73 years, and have varied pronuciations of it;

eg: a-layne, ah-lane, alana, aileen, Eileen, Elaine, Elane, Irene, Al-lane (as in Allan) my list goes on, and I get so mad! people just cannot get it right! But my bro-in-law (when I met his brother first said: Not a Road, nor a Street, but a Lane!
His family got it immediately for which I am grateful, 55 yrs on.
Of course I have had such trouble all my life, no wonder I married a JOHN, and named our two sons DAVID AND PETER, hoping folks would get that right!
