Then a Major, General Jean Baptiste Plauché fought along side of (saved) Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans in January 1815. There was an army base on New Orleans area called Camp Plauché. The General was elected Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana in 1850. My mother, a Plauché is 92 years old.

Plo-SHAY Plo as in flow. It is a name from France. Due to no accent marks in English it is misspelled as Plauche. The pronunciation you have for Plauche is probably wrong for the above reason, and probably does not even exist as a name at all.
