The number of months she was on Earth and Underground corrosponded to the seasons: Spring was when Persephone returned to Earth and Winter was when she went back to the underworld and her husband, Hades. As Spring, Persephone brought the end of winter, the start of Summer and the autumn harvests. As Queen of the Underworld, Persephone was called the Iron Queen.
